Anal Anatomy: Part 4 – Learning to Relax

Last Updated: Jan 15, 2024

Pleasurable anal play is all about relaxation. Fortunately, relaxation isn’t difficult to do, though it does take practice. Taking long, slow, deep breaths can help a lot. If you’re doing it with a partner, it can help if they’re breathing along with you. The more relaxed the giver is, the more easily the receiver can do it.Arousal also makes the pelvic floor relax, so starting off with a familiar pleasure before moving to anal play is a good start.

Some people need to keep that going during anal play, so using a vibrator or oral sex while adding anal stimulation is worth trying. Other people can get turned on with one technique and then focus entirely on anal play after that. Try both and see what works for you.

Remember that breathing and arousal help the body open up. It’s like warming up before you work out. So don't skip this important step. Pay attention to the body and don't rush it. You’ll get there a lot faster when you slow down.
